How to use the caliper
A caliper has two tips, one for internal measurements and one for external measurements.
The electronic caliper has 3 buttons: one for on/off, one for zeroing, and one to switch measurement units between millimeters and inches.
First step
Before taking measurements, close the caliper and check that it reads 0.000. If not:
- Open the tips a few millimeters, then bring the tip ends together until both surfaces meet.
- On a digital caliper, if the reading is not 0.000, reset it to zero by pressing the designated button.
